Marc Siegel, Owner of Blum’s Swimwear, Lingerie & Intimate Apparel in Patchogue Long Island, Named Grand Marshal of It’s a Wonderful Life in Patchogue 2025 Celebration

The beloved holiday tradition It’s a Wonderful Life in Patchogue is back this December, and this year, the honor of Grand Marshal goes to longtime Patchogue merchant Marc Siegel, co-owner of Blum’s Swimwear, Lingerie & Intimate Apparel.

The event, organized by the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, will transform downtown Patchogue into a living stage on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14, bringing the timeless 1940s classic film starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed to life. Local actors will reenact iconic scenes from the movie in storefronts and venues across Main Street, creating a one-of-a-kind holiday experience for visitors of all ages.

A True Patchogue Legacy

Marc Siegel, 72, has been part of the Patchogue community for decades. As the third generation running Blum’s Swimwear, Lingerie & Intimate Apparel in Patchogue, Long Island, Siegel continues the family tradition of serving the community. Blum’s first opened in 1927 as Blum’s Corset Shop and has grown into the oldest retail business in downtown Patchogue, offering everything from classic lingerie to modern swimwear and intimate apparel.

Blum’s is not only a trusted shopping destination but also a Long Island landmark, set to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027.

Siegel joined the family business in 1976, following in the footsteps of his parents, Abie and Bernice Siegel, and grandparents, Arthur and Molly Blum. His father, Abie, who passed away in 2023, helped shape Blum’s into the boutique it is today — a place where generations of customers shop for quality lingerie, swimwear, and intimate apparel in downtown Patchogue.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be named grand marshal,” Siegel shared. “Patchogue has given so much to me and my family over the years, and Blum’s is proud to be a legacy sponsor of It’s a Wonderful Life in Patchogue.

Honoring Patchogue’s Community Spirit

Event organizer and local business owner Steve Muñoz of The Amazing Olive praised Siegel’s selection:

“He’s a class act and a standup guy. He is Patchogue.”

Last year’s grand marshal was David Kennedy, and this year’s passing of the sash ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at a location still to be announced.

Adding to the festivities, Siegel has already been a part of the tradition—he portrayed Mr. Gower, the pharmacist, in last year’s reenactment, making this recognition especially fitting.

A Holiday Event Not to Miss

With its mix of history, theater, and small-town charm, It’s a Wonderful Life in Patchogue has quickly become one of Long Island’s favorite holiday events. Families can stroll downtown, shop local businesses, and enjoy the magic of the season while watching scenes from the iconic film unfold right before their eyes.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting for the first time, this is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season in downtown Patchogue, Long Island. And while you’re in town, don’t miss a stop at Blum’s Swimwear, Lingerie & Intimate Apparel, where tradition and style meet in the heart of Main Street.
